fox fangs PvP now obsolete ?
unless you need 2 unblocakable off hand attacks, fox fangs is now inferior to wild strike (no cast & more damage)
fox fangs 5,1/2,6 dam +5...+25
wild strike 5,0,6, dam +5...+35

fox fangs (1/2 sec) attacks FASTER than wild strike (0)? Why/how? Is there some "after cast" delay when wild strike is used that isn't present with Fox Fangs?

Activation time on Fox Fangs is 0.5 seconds (actually 0.25 seconds before hit, with a 0.25 second follow through).
Activation time on Wild Strike is 1.33 seconds (0.75 before hit with the usual follow through).
Fox Fangs is quite a bit faster.
An attack without a given activation time simply uses the normal attack speed for that weapon. A given activation time replaces that.

This is the correct response.
Think about ranger interrupts: they all have activation times so they activate much faster than normal bow attacks.

ty for clarifying guess I should have researched activation time before posting
fox Fangs definitely appears to have its use (faster attack chain) but it still seems insignificant compared to wild strike (which removes stance & has higher damage)...
from http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Activation_time
"....For skills with unstated amounts (activation time), the skill will use the first half of the character's next attack interval (the remaining half will be the time it takes the character to return to the neutral state)."
and "...These skills (with explicit activation time) also bypass the return-to-neutral delay from the previous attack (assuming it did not have an aftercast delay).
so if daggers are 1.33 sec/attack, then wild strike actually activates at 0.667s (with 1.33 sec between attacks) & fox fangs @ .5s (with .5 sec between attacks)?

Still miss that Fox Fangs strikes within 0.25 seconds of initiation (half way through the animation).
The reduction in time this gives is more significant than the increased damage. The primary use of Assassins in PvP are Wastrel's Collapse Sins (unless I've missed something non-gimmicky in HA); the damage put out in one chain + an auto attack is sufficient to kill most targets; +10 damage on the attack doesn't change that. The quick activation on the off-hand however, leads to a sooner knockdown with Horns of the Ox, which following the KD from Wastrel's Collapse, prevents the target from activating anything more than a 0.5(?) second cast skill.
Monks have Balanced Stance, but you're not killing one of those on your own, Wild Strike or not.

fox fangs is used for the quick burst damage it is designed for, wild strike is basically consistently training and pumping out damage on defensive characters using stances obv.
